It’s not “overtly antisemitic & xenophobic” and even worse to suggest the nationalism is coming from the “French left”. I would suggest research this a lil deeper. It’s a broad spectrum movement that’s a reaction against neoliberalism & austerity and their version of “environmentalism” being forcing the working class to pay more for gas while protecting the manufacturers and petroleum industry. There certainly are some fascists and nationalist opportunists in the mix trying to use the momentum and unrest for their narrative just like there are socialists, anarchists, communists trying the same thing and providing aid to people. No movement like this has ever been “ideologically pure” but that’s even more reason why they need leftist support & push. I’m sure Macron & the neoliberal hegemony love It if liberals vaguely wave away any working class movement as “Oh they’re probably racists anyway” but we need to think about this deeper.

His family has been discriminating for generations.
The FBI literally had 389 pages on the Trump family’s racial discrimination at their rental properties.
