When I was a kid I laughed at this, but now as an adult who works in the public, I can assure you people are exactly like this.

Agreed with the above comment. I thought they lack commen sense when I was a kid, but now as an adult this is so relatable and true sadly.

This the effect of capitalism on people’s behavior. We are conditioned to work within a repetitive cycle with little to no self organization and instead function like wage slave for someone else. So we panic whenever something fall out of the norm. Ants normally don’t behave like this in the wild. They quicky communicate with one another and self organize into a new formation around the obstacle and even optimize the path. That is because ants function as a decentralized swarm and possess a collective intelligence, something greatly reduce when human commit to hierarchies. A swarm would know better than to let its members die and starve on the street. And a swarm would know better than to destroy surplus products to generate artificial scarcity.
